Makin' Jewelry again
I bought a necklace in Harajuku.... all I liked about it was the cute skull pendant. It was just a string of fake pearls with no stretchy cord or clasp... So I remade it...

*The cute handkerchief underneath the laptop is from Junko from an Edo period museum in Japan. :D It's an amazing textile, absorbs water like nothing I've ever seen!

キンカン-リニメント
This stuff saved my muscles from constant ache, and helped the bug bites heal faster! :D

I didn't get to go to a drug store before I left, or rather missed the chance to... But I managed to get Kinkan Liniment at Nijiya in the States.
The first thing I smell in it is the menthol (6.0%), but my brother did point out the obvious Ammonia (2.3%) smell. I suppose that explains why a person is encouraged to pee on jellyfish sting?

Life is pain, Princess.

For reasons I'd rather not say, Japan was bittersweet. I'm slightly melancholy, and I'm not sure what it'll take to dispel the feeling.
Japan is a beautiful mix of new and old, and I can't wait to explore it again. There were things I wanted to do that I kinda forgot about. So next time I will be armed with a Suica, and I will do my best to study the language more constructively.
My favourite things were 森林浴 (right kanji?) A deep forest bath/walk. When I was little I used to walk along the Santa Ana River bottom, when it was not as polluted as it is today.
It's hard not to be a hyper capitalist while in Japan. My desire for Sailor moon items was emotionally transferred to Pokemon, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Rose-scented items. There is no more Sailor Moon in Japan... so my love was transferred to other things I like that were available.
Everything seems cuter, and in much more interesting packaging, it's a graphic artist's dream world. Items are possibly made and marketed with more care? More respect for the consumer? Everything seems higher quality, even the cheap stuff.
I'm not sure if I could ever live in Japan, it's obsessively clean. A healthy habit, but I am a sloth-like, disgusting gaijin, and vaguely proud to be what I am.

Going to Japan!!!!
I didn't really progress on this new piece at all:

Tomorrow I leave for Japan! I might scribble while I am there. Mostly I intend to study my Katakana and Hiragana.
また、ね!
